Working out of a commercial kitchen in Pflugerville, Deceptive Decadence creates four styles of handmade bagels: gluten-free onion sesame, gluten-free jalapeño cheddar (our favorite), bagel bits, and most recently, garlic Parmesan. All of the products are around 5.5 grams of total carbs, 2.5 grams net carbs, and about 190 calories each. Which – aside from being important to those who have celiac disease and other gluten-intolerant people, diabetics, and paleo and keto adherents – is pretty remarkable because they're very delicious. They also make a mean keto cheesecake (original and raspberry), cheddar biscuits, and have plans to launch flatbreads in two flavors – pesto and sun-dried tomato and mushroom sage.
Losing weight can also be exhausting. Although your lifestyle may be hectic and you might have some critical deadlines ahead, be sure to make time for sleep. While your body is repairing itself during sleep, it is also getting rid of things it no longer needs. A restful sleep will leave you feeling energetic and more capable of handling exercise on top of your everyday schedule. You’ll also be more inclined to make smarter decisions about what you eat, making losing weight a breeze.

Keto cheesecake is perfect for those times when you’re craving an indulgence, but want to keep your carb count low. Just check out the nutrition facts: each slice contains over 12 grams of protein and 49 grams of total fat. With no need for bulky kitchen equipment (all you need is a hand mixer), a quick prep time, and a total time of just one hour in the oven, the real question is — why wouldn’t you want to make this keto cheesecake?

“If something says ‘whole grain’ that doesn’t mean it’s made with 100 percent whole grains,” says Gans. In fact, if you scrutinize the ingredient list and see “whole wheat” listed as the second item, the product may contain far more refined flour than whole grains. Look for the claim “100 percent whole wheat” or “100 percent whole grain” and check that a whole grain is actually listed as the first ingredient on the list. The fiber boost that comes from whole grain bread means each slice will be more satisfying (and keep you full longer), and whole grains as part of a balanced diet are associated with a host of health benefits, including lower cholesterol and a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.

If you’re overweight, your blood levels of vitamin B-12 could be low, which means your body may not produce enough energy. The team at Victory Medical can solve that problem with vitamin B-12 injections. If tests show you have a vitamin B-12 deficiency, injections get the vitamin quickly into your system, boosting your energy and helping you stick with your weight loss program.

This gluten-free bread recipe is a tried-and-true way to make a super nutritious and tasty treat with ingredients that conform to the Whole Life Challenge standards. Which is not to say you should be making it all the time. But it’s great for an occasional treat, as a post-workout snack for active individuals, or as something to bring to the holiday table.
But what if I told you you can have your bread and eat it too? With my Free Bread you can absolutely enjoy this without any guilt and still lose those stubborn pounds. I’m seriously in love with this recipe and I think you will be too. I recently had a client tell me she finally has been able to shed those unwanted pounds since she started eating Free Bread. In fact, she came up with her own flavors and told me about chocolate Free Bread.
This is a classic breakfast for a reason: It's delicious, and the steak and eggs each pack a monster punch of protein to keep you fueled up till lunch. Next time you're grilling up steak at night, cook a little extra with incredible keto breakfast leftovers in mind. Tasteaholic's take uses sirloin, a leaner cut of beef, but feel free to use what you have on hand.
The recipe is pretty easy to follow and it does not leave your kitchen that dirty! What I mean is that you only need a food processor, bowl, and a spoon. So if you want to make some changes and be a healthier you this fall, go ahead and make the flour-less bread instead! It really is tasty and contains a mixture of seeds, so it instantly makes you healthier and happier!

Many good things came out of that excruciating time, in the end.  I embraced millet, amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat.  I tried all sorts of new fruits and veggies; I learned to enjoy some new herbal teas and tisanes; I discovered the spiralizer!! And my love affair with baking took on new meaning.  I missed breads terribly.  So I experimented with all sorts of gluten and grain free recipes.  Some worked.  Others produced dense bricks that took the joy out of a breakfast toast.  And then I discovered this recipe.  I was totally intrigued when I found a recipe on Colourful Eats, for a paleo brown bread that utilized chestnut and almond flours.

For anyone that loves the warm, spiced, crunchy texture of crumb cake, this keto dessert is for you. Make a batter with almond and coconut flours, flaxseed, and butter before baking and topping with a nutty crumble. Make these 1-carb donuts Bulletproof by using Ceylon cinnamon and grass-fed butter, plus skip the nutmeg. Avoid eating flax too often as well, since it can irritate your gut.
I originally shared this recipe in the 1st edition of Go Dairy Free, but decided to post it online as a sample recipe. It was on my old recipe blog, and I’m finally updating and fully transitioning it to this main site. I’ve also taken new photos and cleaned up the recipe in Go Dairy Free 2nd Edition. But I didn’t want all those years of feedback to be lost. Here is what others have said about this healthy, guilt-free and breakfast-worthy banana bread and some of the modifications they tried.

Hi Katrin – I made this cake tonight and although it tasted great (a little sweet still for me) it took 1.5 hours before it was set properly and not liquid in the centre. It had a very thin crisp top but quite a thick, hard layer around the edges, however it did not stick to the pan. The only sweetener I could find was a blend of granulated erythritol and stevia, which I powdered as per your tip – could this have caused it to take longer to bake?
All grains start as an intact seed made up of bran, germ, and endosperm, but as they’re refined the two outermost parts are stripped away — removing much of the grain’s protein and more than a dozen key nutrients, says Gans. But breads made with whole grains have the protein and important vitamins and minerals that their more refined counterparts lack. The trick to bagging the best bread is to really look at the label — not just the front of the packaging.
The scale is not necessarily your friend. You may want to lose fat – but the scale measures muscles, bone and internal organs as well. Gaining muscle is a good thing. Thus weight or BMI are imperfect ways to measure your progress. This is especially true if you’re just coming off a long period of semi-starvation (calorie counting), as your body may want to restore lost muscles etc. Starting weight training and gaining muscle can also hide your fat loss.
Made this last night and OMG was it wonderful! took half of it to work and everyone loved it. I was looking for something different to take to a family gathering this coming weekend and I found it…. (so I can have sweets too) but thinking of adding some chipotle spices to it. O I also made your donuts and they were good too. but this has to be my fav
Cinnabon's got nothing on these keto-friendly treats from Gnom-Gnom. With only two grams of net carbs and 102 calories each, they taste more indulgent than they really are. Crafting the dough (made with almond flour and coconut flour) is a relatively involved process, but you can whip it up and keep it in the fridge for up to five days before you're ready to make (and eat) the cinnamon roll knots.
An increase in fiber intake is also recommended for regulating bowel movements. Other methods of weight loss include use of drugs and supplements that decrease appetite, block fat absorption, or reduce stomach volume. Bariatric surgery may be indicated in cases of severe obesity. Two common bariatric surgical procedures are gastric bypass and gastric banding.[12] Both can be effective at limiting the intake of food energy by reducing the size of the stomach, but as with any surgical procedure both come with their own risks[13] that should be considered in consultation with a physician. Dietary supplements, though widely used, are not considered a healthy option for weight loss.[14] Many are available, but very few are effective in the long term.[15]
The secret to creating a light and airy keto bread that can hold up to the toaster is using plenty of eggs and healthy fat. Ghee is a butterfat that is cooked longer to filter out the milk solids, which makes it much easier on the digestive system for people with lactose sensitivities. Grass-fed ghee is also high in the fatty acid CLA, which is beneficial for protecting cells and reducing oxidative damage.
With only three ingredients and 30 minutes, you can make a perfect salty sweet and sweet bark. Melt down chocolate, then mix with almonds and top with crisp bacon for a keto dessert anyone could love (just over 5 net carbs, too). Make this one Bulletproof and use raw almonds, pastured bacon, and a high-quality chocolate with at least 85% cacao — plus, melt chocolate on a double boiler instead of using a microwave.
