Not only does it change your buying behavior but it also changes your EATING behavior. You’re more likely to have a greater amount of an item you label as ‘guilt-free’ than one you see as neutral. Research by Brian Wansink  - a known leader in studying consumer behavior and marketing research -  has shown that labeling a food as ‘low fat’ increased the consumption of that food by as much as 50%. Regardless of the amount more we may have - the idea is that when we see a food as ‘guilt-free’ we consume more of it than we would it’s ‘guilty’ competitor.

In 2007, the International Agency for Research on Cancer analyzed 19 studies on indoor tanning and the risk for melanoma. It concluded that people who started indoor tanning before age 35 had a 75% greater risk of developing melanoma. Since 2003, UV radiation from any source has been listed by the U.S. National Toxicology Program as a known carcinogen (cancer-causing substance). Currently, many government agencies caution against tanning.
We all have cravings and impulses and urges. Heck, half the time time I don’t want to get up in the morning and go to work, or help my kids with homework, or wash dishes. These are impulses, but ultimately, I know the work needs to get done. Well, why is that different than eating? Why is it OK to succumb to our urges that push us further away from our goals, because its food? What if it was drugs? You get my point…..
Meanwhile, the tanning industry makes misleading claims for the healthfulness of indoor tanning. One claim is that it helps build a base that protects against sunburn. It does, but only slightly — the equivalent of a sunscreen rated SPF 4 or less. Another claim is that tanning is a good way to stimulate the skin's production of vitamin D, a hormone that's essential to bone health and has been linked to a reduced risk for several cancers. But you can get all the vitamin D you need in a daily vitamin D supplement, which offers all the benefits without any of the risks to your skin.

In a blog post for the International Food Information Council Foundation, Pike wrote how clean eating transformed from people wanting to eat more wholesome foods to it becoming “a privilege of consuming nicely packaged foods with influencer-approved ingredients,” and how this type of eating excludes those who don’t have access to upscale grocery stores. “[Clean eating] implies that those who don’t care to eat clean are unhealthy or lazy — they are eating ‘dirty,’” she wrote in the post.

Did you say guacamole?! Being one of the latest crazes, guacamole is something people are willing to bathe in and always willing to pay the extra dollar. This is not just any ordinary guacamole, though; this is guacamole combined with bacon and cheese. Extremely low in sugar, this cheesy guacamole is perfect for dipping carrots or celery into. If you find yourself unable to stop once you’ve started, try making a smaller portion using just one avocado.
Inspired by the old-school, ultra-rich, mousselike chocolate cake that usually called for a whole pound of chocolate, half a dozen eggs and lots of butter, this enlightened rendition has deep bittersweet chocolate flavor and dense melt-in-your-mouth texture. No one will guess it's healthier. The secret is excellent natural cocoa powder and good-quality bittersweet chocolate, preferably with 70% cacao. Although the cake can be eaten once it's completely cool, it comes out of the pan much easier and even tastes better if it has been chilled at least overnight.
This variation is most often used in medical settings. Often, the dieter will start this variation with a three day fast. The RKD is the most effective keto diet for fighting against cancer. A 2010 study showed that a patient with a form of brain cancer had no signs of mutated brain tissue after two months on this diet. Medical professionals will not only monitor caloric intake, carbs, and ketosis, but specific ketone levels will need to be achieved.
Kelley Herring had to win over her health condition that went misdiagnosed for two full years. She learned that her sickness was a result of yeast infection,  sugars,  and preservatives in her diet and came to realize how a diet can break or build a person. Now, Kelly is the CEO, of Healing Gourmet website. She has written a number of resources on healthy eating and authored Healing Gourmet and Eat to Beat Diabetes that was published by McGraw-Hill back in 2005. This way we aren’t over eating and “ruining” anything. Seriously, you will be amazed at the progress you make following this rule. Remember a burger, fries, and milkshake aren’t inherently evil, they are made up of protein, carbs, fat, minerals and vitamins just like salmon and broccoli. But it’s a lot easier to eat 2,500 calories in one sitting at 5 Guys scarfing back our food with no awareness.

If you’re looking for an alternative to cream and sugar-based ice creams, a can of coconut milk perked up with espresso beans is just the ticket. The healthy fats in coconut butter (similar to peanut butter, but made with coconut flakes instead of nuts) rounds things out.

Chocolate - As long as you are focusing on eating dark chocolate with little sugar, then chocolate has a lot of minerals to offer such as iron, magnesium, copper and manganese as well as flavanol, which has been shown to aid in cardiovascular health.  If you have a sweet tooth, try to squash it with dark chocolate dipped in natural peanut butter, and enjoy it guilt free!

Also, if you want to ensure your family and yourself  is protected from the many risk factors involved with indulging in your favorite meals and desserts, then don’t hesitate! This great book will teach you how to reduce calories in your healthy desserts and also how to incorporate natural sweeteners as functional ingredients to gently reduce your cravings for artificial sugars, which by the way feed yeast infections such as candida.

Don’t try to “work it off.” We’ve all been there: you eat a few too many cookies, then pledge to hit the gym extra hard the following day. Bad news: you can’t out-exercise a poor diet. In fact, exercising is the least efficient way that our bodies burn calories. So what should you do? Don’t worry about it. In order to gain one real pound, you would have to eat 3500 calories over your caloric limit. That’s over 5000 calories in a day! As long as you’re not going over your calorie budget on a regular basis, one day won’t derail your diet. So forget about cookies of the past and just keep sticking to your plan.

Ketogenic diets also help lower insulin levels, which can prevent type 2 diabetes, or reduce the symptoms of those with T2 Diabetes. The pancreas makes insulin to regulate glucose levels and move glucose through the bloodstream.  Since the ketogenic diets limits carbohydrate intake, your body will have less glucose and therefore produce less insulin.

Finally, I learned about functional medicine and found a practitioner that I hoped could help me. They ran specialized tests that were far different than I had ever had before. When I got the results back, it turned out I had candida, parasites, high cortisol, the Epstein Bar Virus and many food intolerances. I also had an issue with my thyroid that no one found before because they were using the conventional medicine lab ranges which are way too broad….which I now know is one of the leading causes of hypothyroid misdiagnosis.
Great, super rich, vven taking short cuts with recipe! We loved this cake. I took a couple of shortcuts and it still came out great. First, I made this in a cheesecake springform pan without the water bath around it ( these pans would leak) so it would be easier to get out of the pan without inverting. Baked fine without the water bath around it and came out of pan. Secondly, I did not do the sugar, flour mixture in a pan as I thought I might burn it. I melted the chocolate in a double boiler and added the sugar and milk right to it in the double boiler. Thirdly, I did not make the topping but thought I might serve it with thaws frozen raspberries. S all in all, I made the recipe easier and it was rich and delicious. Pros: Delicious Cons: None
