Although preferable, you DON’T have to. You see, most alcohol contains large amounts of carbs, which you are trying to control while on Ketogenic diet. Vodka with soda water and lime has zero carbs. So does tequila, brandy, and whiskey. Most glasses of wine (5oz, not the full glass) have 0-4g of carbs. Beer and mixed drinks have significantly more carbs. So if you are having your drinks straight up, you’ll be safer.
Potatoes or any other vegetable cooked with or dressed with butter/healthy oils -  As long as you aren’t eating reconstituted fries from a drive-thru, potatoes in the form of wedges, baked with sour cream and bacon, mashed, or boiled are all full of the many vitamins and minerals that potatoes have to offer such as Vitamin C, B-6, iron, potassium and fibre. Potatoes also have ⅓ of the carbs and calories that pasta and bread have, so they shouldn’t be put in the same category as these more carb/starch dense foods. Dress other vegetables in a salad with plenty of olive oil, and bake or saute vegetables with butter, coconut oil, avocado oil or canola oil.
Not only do these energy bites look amazing, but they also taste amazing! All that needs to be done is mixing the ingredients and throwing them in the fridge to set. No butter or sugar added, this is a great snack that won’t leave you feeling guilty. Enjoy one or two between meals throughout your day to keep you energized and away from that 2 o’clock crash.

4. HEAT an 8" skillet on medium heat. Spray with cooking spray and pour about 1⁄4 cup of the batter into the skillet. Immediately tilt the skillet and swirl the batter around to coat the entire cooking surface. Cook until the bottom side is golden brown, 1 to 1½ minutes. Loosen with a spatula and flip, using the spatula and your fingers to help turn the crêpe. Cook until the opposite side is golden brown, reducing the heat to medium low if the crêpe browns too quickly, about 45 seconds. Transfer to a plate and cover with a kitchen towel.

3. ROLL OUT the dough into an 11" round on a lightly floured surface. Transfer the dough to a 9" tart pan with a removable bottom. Firmly press the dough against the bottom and sides of the pan. Trim the edges. Prick the bottom of the dough all over with a fork. Line with foil or parchment paper and weight down with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and weights. Bake for 5 minutes longer, or until lightly browned. Cool completely on a rack.
I’ve worked, and I’m working really hard, not to be weird about food. Like many women, especially, it’s been something I’ve been conscious of having to keep an eye on since school, where eating disorders were a core lesson of Key Stage 3, then through adulthood, where an essential facet of feminine bonding is sharing a hatred of our own bodies, and where, in the past decade, the idea of dieting to lose weight has morphed into a far more complicated and expensive concept of wellness, classing foods as either good or bad, right or wrong.

I decided to make it while my older boys were at baseball practice (so they wouldn’t see what I was making) and then give them a piece after dinner and get their feedback. They. Loved. It. When I told them it had a can of Diet Coke in it, their jaws hit the floor! You can use any kind of diet soda and any cake mix too – I’m already thinking of the yummy combos! Strawberry cake mix + orange soda, funfetti cake + lemon-lime soda, I mean seriously the list goes on and on! I’m a chocolate freak and currently trying to maintain a healthier diet, so this really hit the spot!
Snack on dried fruit between meals. Dried fruits are a sweet treat that adds fiber to your diet to keep you full until lunch or dinner. One serving -- eight dried apricot halves, three prunes or four dried apple rings -- has approximately 60 calories. These single servings also provide about 3 grams of fiber. Dole out your servings of dried fruit into individual plastic bags and keep them in your pantry. Your snacks will be pre-portioned and you'll be less likely to overindulge and consume too many calories.
creamy, rich, and chocolatey I happened upon this recipe, and boy am I glad. It's a little time consuming, but there are shortcuts. I pre melted the chocolate (whole squares, not grated) in the microwave. Just enough to be moveable, not totally melted. Then, I added the cocoa with a little instant coffee. From there I added the hot liquid and it melted it the rest of the way. I also used a springform pan. It worked fine. I left the cake in the fridge overnight, and tried a piece the next day with a little whipped cream. I didn't do the orange part of the recipe. I just did the cake. I usually have a lindor dark chocolate truffle once a day, but now I think I'm going to have a thin slice of this. I'm also going to cut and freeze all the pieces and take them out as I need them. This is an awesome cake for so little calories. I also didn't add the rest of the sugar when I did the egg whites. It was sweet enough. Perfect chocolate fix. Maybe I'll experiment with it a little more when I make it again. DEEEELLLIIISSHHH.
Hi Alisha, the recipe card does list total carb and fiber. The issue you are having is that your counting the sugar substitute but every low carb keto food blogger doesn’t count this because it’s not necessary. Here is an explanation from Swerve and includes a short video. I hope this clarifies things for you darling. I assure you that you can enjoy these treats: Erythritol is only 0.2 Calories per gram. It is listed as 25 grams of carbs by difference. In the US at least, anything that is not protein or fat when tested is automatically listed as a carb by difference. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that is 90% processed in the small intestine. The human body cannot derive energy from erythritol (hence the low calorie count), and it has 0 glycemic impact and load (no insulin response).https://swervesweet.com/videos/swerve-and-carbohydrates
Don’t risk breaking your ketosis, and causing a backslide in your progress, just to try something new! Be sure to think carefully about what your Ketogenic Diet Goals are before making any changes. If you are not a high-intensity athlete, a body builder, have specific dietary restrictions, or are practicing the Keto Diet for medical reasons, oftentimes the best option for you is the SKD.
Okay, we all know bacon is delicious any way you eat it. But, if you haven’t tried the combination of bacon with maple syrup, you need to, right now! These homemade granola bars are the perfect substitute for a store bought brand because you’ll know everything going into them. (No hidden ingredients!) Using maple syrup as a sweetener is one of the most natural forms of sugar. Replacing refined sugar with the same amount of maple syrup will cut the total sugar content by a third! I also recommend swapping the butter for coconut oil for added benefits.

Simmer some peaches in a spiced maple whiskey sauce, stuff them into fluffy cinnamon rolls, top with vegan vanilla icing and all your sweet food dreams will come true.

17. Heavenly Blueberry and Cream Dessert: Heavenly is the absolute right word to describe this dessert. Use a store-bought angel food cake to save yourself some time and layer it with homemade whipped cream and fresh blueberries. Stick the completed trifle in the fridge and try to distract yourself for the next two hours while it chills. (via Mel’s Kitchen Cafe)

If you’re looking for an alternative to cream and sugar-based ice creams, a can of coconut milk perked up with espresso beans is just the ticket. The healthy fats in coconut butter (similar to peanut butter, but made with coconut flakes instead of nuts) rounds things out.

The beauty of vegan baking and raw cake-making is that you can totally reinvent classic dishes. That way, you get to enjoy two versions: the more traditional, familiar recipe, and the new, tantalizing recipe. The brownie base of Clémence Moulart‘s Raw Walnut Coffee Cake is a cheeky wink to all the chocolate lovers out there: it makes this cake even more indulgent!

PB2 AKA low carb peanut butter, is extremely versatile, so you can use it in all your favourite classic peanut butter keto recipes and more! First things first, unless you’re baking with it or using it in smoothies, you have to add water to it to (typically, two tablespoons of powdered peanut butter to one tablespoon of water). This will create a PB2 paste.

Best served the day they're made, these bright and beautiful tarts are packed with a yummy maple and almond filling, and topped with a sweet orange-infused cranberry compote.

The traditional tomato soup with a little spunk! Soup is not your conventional snack but as long as you remember portions were thinking this soup will change your mind. This low sugar soup combines potatoes, which are high in B6 and have a rich flavor, crunchy bacon, and white beans to make it a complete snack to warm your belly and satisfy your hunger until your next meal. Tomato soup alone comes packed with essential minerals and vitamins but with the addition of white beans you are also adding a source of protein.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of eating fries covered in gravy and cheese curds, now's the time. This recipe shows you how to make the iconic Canadian snack food—and gives an easy substitution for cheese curds if you don't have any on hand (just tear up some mozzarella). Once you've mastered this traditional version of poutine, you can start piling on additional greasy toppings, like bacon (naturally). We've even seen poutine piled with fried eggs, short ribs, chopped corn dogs, and all kinds of greasy delights.
